SWS Trailer

This is the Trailer for the video lesson I did with the Stan Winston School of Character Arts.

At first I was hesitant about doing this. I did not want to give away any of my tricks or share any of my secrets. But ultimately that sounded selfish. I have always learned from what others had shared.

We spoke before about what I wanted to do. I wanted to keep it a bit basic as far as the pieces I create for time sake. We do cover the fundamentals of my process to complete a whole Mask.

The whole thing has been a great experience. I dig the trailer they made.

Cheers, Bruce D. Mitchell

"Symetrex" This was a departure from my usual creations but a challenge I wanted to attempt. The inspiration came out of my love for old Rastor Grapfic games of the 1980's. This is my malevolent robotic entity.

It was constructed of sheet styrene. I did start with a sketch but let the build create the flow. In the end a mold had to be made because of how fragile it was. Mold created by Javier Contreras.

The finished work is Fiberglass. Lenses provided by Oakley.

"Thicket" This piece first appeared in the Chet Zar curated group art show "Conjoined II". It then went on to appear in "Spectrum 19".

Thicket was a revisit of the techniques and character attributes of "The Withered" yet it remains it's own character. Using actual branches to create a wild hair in motion look also makes for a startling silhouette. Think of him as the anti Green Man.

This piece features Magnetic positioning Goggles and Mouth piece. Supported on the head by a buckled leather webbing. Lenses provide by Oakley.
