"Crucible" inspired by helms of the ancient world. This is the single largest piece I have made so far. The face swings out and off the helmet surface. This took the longest amount of time to create. Most of my work is heavily textured but this on is very smooth. Creating the smooth finish and sharp tolerances take time to find and maintain.

SWS Trailer
This is the Trailer for the video lesson I did with the Stan Winston School of Character Arts.
At first I was hesitant about doing this. I did not want to give away any of my tricks or share any of my secrets. But ultimately that sounded selfish. I have always learned from what others had shared.
We spoke before about what I wanted to do. I wanted to keep it a bit basic as far as the pieces I create for time sake. We do cover the fundamentals of my process to complete a whole Mask.
The whole thing has been a great experience. I dig the trailer they made.
Cheers, Bruce D. Mitchell

It was constructed of sheet styrene. I did start with a sketch but let the build create the flow. In the end a mold had to be made because of how fragile it was. Mold created by Javier Contreras.
The finished work is Fiberglass. Lenses provided by Oakley.
This piece features Magnetic positioning Goggles and Mouth piece. Supported on the head by a buckled leather webbing. Lenses provide by Oakley.
